“Education is the key to unlocking the door that will eradicate poverty.”Desmond Tutu

Thousands of children do not attend school in Africa because their parents or guardians cannot afford the school fees, uniforms or supplies. The educational system in Kenya is demanding and very competitive. Those who are given educational opportunities must work very hard to be rewarded by the system.

Education is at the core of the HHF. All children enrolled in our program must attend school. We follow and plan each child’s progress very carefully.

We provide the following educational support:
Primary day schools

Approximately 75 children attend Ngong Forest and St. Nicholas Primary Day Schools.

The cost per year, per child is $600 and includes uniforms, shoes, books, supplies, field trips, transportation and lunch.

High School and Primary School Boarders

High School Boarders: We have approximately 30 high school children. They attend government high schools around Kenya. The schools are costly and only offer boarding opportunities.

Primary School Boarders: We have approximately 12 particularly needy primary school children who have been selected to attend boarding school at Kilgoris Academy in the Trans Mara.

The cost per year, per child for boarders is $1200 and includes uniforms, shoes, books, supplies, field trips, transportation, room and board and daily meals.
